Training terms explained

Timed circuit
Move through the exercises for a set time each, with short rests, then repeat the round.
Rep circuit
Each exercise has a repetition target rather than a clock. Take the rest you need.
Intervals
Alternating hard work and easy recovery periods to build conditioning.
EMOM
Every Minute On the Minute — start a set at the top of each minute and rest with whatever time is left.
AMRAP
As Many Rounds As Possible — repeat the sequence at a steady, sustainable pace for the time given.
Movement flow
Exercises linked together continuously, like a dance, with smooth transitions.
Strength + mobility
Pairs a strength movement with a mobility drill so you build and restore at once.
Core focus
A session built around trunk stability, anti-rotation and deep core control.
Low-impact cardio
Heart-rate work with no jumping and both feet staying close to the ground.
Bodyweight endurance
Longer sets at a moderate effort to build muscular stamina.
Tempo training
Slow, controlled lifting and lowering counts to increase time under tension.
Isometric training
Holding positions still under tension instead of moving through reps.
Ladder
Reps climb up then back down (e.g. 4-6-8-6-4) within the same movement.
Balance & stability
Single-leg and controlled positions that train coordination and joint control.
Active recovery
Light, restorative movement that helps you feel better tomorrow.
